About Helen Wishart
Helen’s interest in needlework and knitting began at an early age. She looked forward to this activity at primary school much more than to any other subject. She benefited from her granny, her aunt and her teacher encouraging these talents.
Over the years Helen has developed her love of working with threads and wool. She has won prizes for her work, and has staged a number of successful exhibitions.
Helen grew up in Orkney. When her husband decided to stop farming and train as a Church of Scotland Parish Minister, they spent thirty years in Aberdeenshire along with their two children, Joyce and James.
Now, with her husband’s retirement Helen, has returned to her Orkney homeland and has resumed her passion for knitting and handicrafts.
Helen is a member of Orkney Arts and Crafts.
